The goals of RAC are to establish a sound economic base to provide employment and training into the future for Aboriginal Community members of the Redfern area. RAC is a public benevolent institution that operates on a non-profit basis, with all income returned to the Community in the form of training and employment. Catering Through her initiative, hard work and diligence, Tara of the RAC has created a catering arm that involves CDEP participants. Through past successes it has become popular through word of mouth, and known for professionalism. We regularly cater to functions that are held at various venues as well as other local areas. Employment Preparation Project Maintaining Employment brokerage to enhance Participants' opportunities, increase their skills and experience by gaining fulltime employment, provide Participants with work experience opportunities and expose them to the working environment.
Furniture Removalist Service Employ Participants to provide a fee for service at an affordable rate to the Local Community who are very transient.
Garbage Service To provide a minimal service to our community.
Lawn Mowing CDEP Participants are trained to enhance their skills to be able to gain employment in lawn maintenance.
Marrickville Cell To employ Participants allocated to the local Marrickville Organisations to provide services to the Aboriginal Community while gaining skills and experience transferable to maintain employment.
Outreach Program To employ Participants allocated to Local Community Organisations to allow for them to continue to provide services suffering due to budget restraints while gaining ongoing site Training, Skills and Experience.
Screen Printing/Sewing/Design To provide Employment and Training to participants while maintaining the operations of our business that is supplying outlets spread throughout four (4) States and Territories. RAC is able to offer hand printed and commercial printed fabrics, with all designs by local Aboriginal artists on 100% cotton, to both the wholesale and retail market. We also produce a line of quality Jarjum clothes and bags, our specialty being t-shirt design and printing on 180-200gm cottons.
